How we get eight numbers out of one photo.

No tape measure, no calibration card, no standing on a mat. One full body photo, shoes on, and a bit of geometry.

What each number means

  1. 01ChestStraight across the fullest part, armpit to armpit, doubled.98.0
  2. 02ShoulderSeam to seam across the back, where the sleeve is stitched on.45.5
  3. 03SleeveCentre back of the collar, over the shoulder, down to the cuff.63.0
  4. 04LengthHighest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.70.0
  5. 05HemStraight across the opening at the bottom, doubled.104.0
  6. 06NeckAcross the collar opening, doubled.38.0
  7. 07WaistStraight across the narrowest point of the body, doubled.96.0
  8. 08CuffStraight across the sleeve opening, doubled.19.0

Taking a photo that works

Stand back

Two to three metres, whole body in frame, feet included. Cropping the feet costs us the scale reference.

Keep it flat

Face the camera square on, arms slightly away from your sides. A three quarter turn throws the shoulder line out.

Fitted clothes

A t-shirt and jeans beats a coat. We measure you, not the puffer jacket you happen to be wearing.

Every number carries its own margin

A sharp photo in even light gives a tight range. A dim one at an angle gives a wide one, and we show you the width rather than hiding it. If the range is too wide to call, you get no verdict instead of a bad one.

Shoulder45.5 +/- 0.8

Yours always wins

Correct any number and it sticks. We never quietly overwrite a measurement you set, and every future garment is checked against your version, not ours.
